Colleen O'Brien was born in 1979 and grew up in Chicago. She received a BA from Stanford Unive'rsity and an MFA from the University of Washington. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in The Antioch Review, North American Review, Kenyon Review Online, Ninth Letter, Witness, and other publications. She is currently a PHD student at Western Michigan University.
