Paula C. Lowe
grew up on an Iowa farm in the mid-Twentieth Century when creeks were full of crawfish and minnows. After graduate school, she authored a half dozen books and educational programs in conjunction with schools, businesses and communities. Her poems appear in such literary journals as Poet Lore, burntdistrict, Tale Review, Comstock Review, The Iowa Review, Sow's Ear, Dogwood and the anthologies Poems For Endangered Places and Bird as Black as the Sun. She lives out of town three hours north of Los Angeles where cattle graze the ridges. and yes, she found a badger denning "under the dappled and treacherous light of fate filtering leaves."
