Michelle Bonczek's poetry has been published in over fifty journals and magazines, including Crazyhorse, cream city review, DMQ Review, Green Mountains Review, Margie, New York Quarterly, Orion, The Progressive, Slipstream, and Stone Canoe. In addition, her poems are the recipients of the John Woods Prize, the Jane Kenyon Award through Water-Stone Review, the Sherwin W. Howard Award through Weber Contemporary West, as well as awards through Blue Mountain Arts and Adanna Literary Journal. In 2010 her manuscript Through the Skin of This World was shortlisted for the Anthony Hecht Award through The Waywiser Press in London. Recently, her full manuscript, Where I Turn Bad, was a semi-finalist for the Lexi Rudnitsky award through Persea Press. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University, an MFA from Eastern Washington University, and an MA in Literature from SUNY Brockport. She is an editor and mentor for The Poet's Billow, and currently teaches in Syracuse, NY, where she keeps an ever-expanding garden with the poet Rob Evory.
